More Details: August this year marked 30 years since Glacier View. Over this period Forum has addressed a number of issues related to this momentous event in Adventist Church history. However, there remain many unturned pages.
One of these concerns the documents produced around this time. The most important such document was the Consensus Statement voted by all delegates. The Ministry of October,1980 published a letter written by Dr Ford to the then Australasian Division President, Pr Parmenter, in which he expressed satisfaction with the Consensus Statement, noting that it made 12 important concessions to his sanctuary position. Also published in that edition was an anonymously written article insisting that theConsensus Statement made no such admissions. The 4-page Consensus Statement itself also appears in the October Ministry. Accordingly, Forum will convene a “court” session, with both Dr Ford and the Ministry magazine in the dock, on trial for the accuracy of their representation of the Consensus Statement. Come along, become a juror-at-large and be part of the ruling!
Just in case this hearing is the end of the road for Dr Ford, we will ask him to start the seminar with a Bible study! The day will also include our Forum AGM.
There will be a shared lunch.
