A spirit of honesty and tolerance

The following pages are written with the recognition that opinions can be wrong but love never is. We seek to fulfil our Master’s command to love one another, even when we find it necessary to differ with our brethren in Christ. We have tried to disagree without being disagreeable.

We urge that none will interpret or use these materials in any other spirit. We wish to help earnest Adventist understand what the crisis in Adventism is all about. Many in the church are perplexed and confused regarding the theological controversy of the last few years. We also want our labours to be seen as a plea for honesty and tolerance among church members and leaders alike.

We feel the Adventist church has been hurt by prolonged conflict. It is time for such conflict to cease. We hope that this presentation will bring understanding, if not agreement, and introduce an urgently needed dimension of love and acceptance among battle-weary church members
